Her areas of specialized research focus on paratranslation, prostitution in concentrations camps, minority social groups in Nazi Germany, the Nazi eugenics program (Aktion T-4), the Lebensborn project, female and male homosexuality, and anxiety in Higher Education concerning their influence in the teaching and acquisition of German language.

Ha publicado artículos y reseñas en revistas nacionales e internacionales, así como libros y capítulos de libro, y participado en numerosos congresos nacionales e internacionales de Lingüística Aplicada y Enseñanza de lenguas asistida por ordenador. Su labor investigadora actual se centra en el análisis del impacto de las TIC en el aprendizaje de segundas lenguas y en contextos interculturales.
