Organizational innovation is defined as ¿the implementation of a new organizational method in the firm¿s business practices, workplace organization or external relations¿ (OECD, 2005: 177). Similarly, Birkinshaw et al. (2008, p. 829) define management innovation as `the generation and implementation of a management practice, process, structure, or technique that is new to the state of the art and is intended to further organizational goals¿. So far, the literature has been really active at researching technological (product & process) innovation, putting less effort on understanding innovations in other non-technological areas in organizations. The workshop is necessary in order to tackle the emerging growth of the topic in most leading journals. The purpose is to disentangling non-technological or management innovation from the traditionally well-researched technological innovation (product and/or process). The main objective consists of setting a research agenda and exploring new empirical evidence.
